Special Recognition for new Scouts that sign up
Every Cub Master that submits an application for a new Cub Scout that joined during the month of September will receive a Pinewood Derby car for that Scout during the Chevrolet Activity Day at O'Brien Chevrolet in Westlake. The Pinewood Derby giveaway & Chevrolet Activity Day will be held in October. The Date will be announced shortly.
Outdoor Leader Skills / OWL Training
This required training will be held at Beaumont Scout Reservation, in Cub World the weekend of September 13-15. This is the final training needed to become a fully trained Scout Master or Asst. Drive Up for Scouting this October 19th!
The Greater Cleveland Council has an ongoing partnership with the Insurance Auto Auctions Company to accept donations of vehicles, RV's, and boats throughout the year. The donated vehicles are then sold at an auction and a large percentage of the funds are donated back to the Scout Council. The donor receives a tax benefit for the auction price.
So consider that aging vehicle or boat in your possession. Is it worth storing for another year or fixing one more time? Consider that it might be time to turn it into some cash for the Scouting organization and derive a tax benefit for yourself. Plus clean out an area of your yard or garage for more useful items!
We can accept vehicles any day of the year by simply visiting the website www.onecarhelpsscouts.com or calling 1-855-272-1227 to make your arrangements today!
To help expand this idea and focus the potential we are also holding a one day drop off at the Scout Office.
Saturday, October 19th, you can drive up your old vehicle and drop it off in our Scout parking lot. From 9:00am to 1:00 pm the Auction Managers and Staff will be on hand to process all paperwork on the spot and have your vehicle towed away. Look for more details in the upcoming month to remind you and those you might know to consider turning their old unwanted vehicles into cash for Scouts.
