The Trail Marker Council Newsletter to go Electronic

Within the next few days, you should be receiving your copy of the September - October Trail Marker.

Over the last year, we have been developing an electronic newsletter,  THE INFORMER, that is e-mailed approximately every 2 weeks to over 7000 addresses. The Informer contains current events, council information, and "happenings".

Beginning in 2014, we will continue to provide the Trail Marker, but electronically to help the communications within our Council. It will have many of the same great features and information, but more timely.

If you have not been receiving The Informer, click here to subscribe!

Cub Haunted Weekends- Oct  11-13 & Oct 18-20

The 2013 Cub Haunted Weekends will return to a weekend format. You will have many different camping options or you can make it a Saturday only event. For those camping, we can offer lodge accommodations either as a unit, or by individual. The same holds true for camp sites for those that prefer tents.

On Friday evening, we will have light programming and dinner will be available. Beginning Saturday morning, all the activities will be available with built in free time.

This has been a great event for Packs, Cubs, Families, and Siblings. It has sold out in previous years and we suggest you sign up early!

Drive Up for Scouting this October 19th!

The Greater Cleveland Council has an ongoing partnership with the Insurance Auto Auctions Company to accept donations of vehicles, RV's, and boats throughout the year.  The donated vehicles are then sold at an auction and a large percentage of the funds are donated back to the Scout Council. The donor receives a tax benefit for the auction price.

So consider that aging vehicle or boat in your possession.  Is it worth storing for another year or fixing one more time?  Consider that it might be time to turn it into some cash for the Scouting organization and derive a tax benefit for yourself.  Plus clean out an area of your yard or garage for more useful items!

We can accept vehicles any day of the year by simply visiting the website www.onecarhelpsscouts.com or calling 1-855-272-1227 to make your arrangements today!

To help expand this idea and focus the potential we are also holding a one day drop off at the Scout Office.

Saturday, October 19th, you can drive up your old vehicle and drop it off in our Scout parking lot.  From 9:00am to 1:00 pm the Auction Managers and Staff will be on hand to process all paperwork on the spot and have your vehicle towed away.  Look for more details in the upcoming month to remind you and those you might know to consider turning their old unwanted vehicles into cash for Scouts.
